The July 30, 2010 issue of
The Wall Street Journal featured a
review of the new film The Extra Man, specifically praising young actor
Paul Dano ((whose film credits include
Little Miss Sunshine,
There Will Be Blood and
Knight & Day) for "stealing" the film from
Kevin Kline. Though born in
New York City,
Dano's father grew up in
Scranton, Pennsylvania. In addition,
Dano's grandfather (a lawyer) and
Aunt Olga have also lived in
Scranton in the past.
The Extra Man, based upon
the novel by Jonathan Ames, is now playing in limited release.
Much thanks to Evelyn Gibbons and Dr. Peter Cupple for this reference.
